Choose Woodbridge ... for Real Shopping

Tide Mill - evening reflectionTake your time
Real shopping is shopping in an environment where you feel you can take your time, and where you are served by friendly people who know what they are selling, take a pride in it and can give informed advice about their goods quite often because you are dealing with the proprietor.

Real shopping is also about having a range of specialist shops stocking the less common goods that even the biggest supermarket cannot offer. In Woodbridge, we have two kitchen shops, two locksmiths, a leather and sheepskin shop, a lighting centre, a Belgian chocolate shop, a sports shop and an artists materials shop.

A pleasure, not a chore
Real shopping is a pleasure, not a chore. It means shopping in a town like Woodbridge, where, there are mini-markets where you can efficiently do the bulk of your weekly shop. Also there are more than 100 independent traders offer a range of goods and a level of personal service it would be difficult to find in a large city.

All these shops are within a few minutes walking distance of each other, so browsing is easy. For real shopping you need to have plenty of choice, and in Woodbridge we are spoilt for choice.

Ten hairdressers, three barbers, two beauty centres, two complementary health centres and three opticians can take care of your body. And a wide array of clothes shops, shoe shops and jewellers look after your outward appearance, while three newsagents a couple of art galleries and four book shops stimulate your mind. There are three fine-food stores, an independent greengrocer, and one butcher offering everything from kangaroo meat to frogs legs. For a meal, choose from more than 30 places to eat, ranging from cafes, pubs, Indian, Thai, Turkish and Chinese to elegant restaurants, many serving local seasonal produce.

Keep a healthy body and planet
Real shopping is good for you and the planet too! Many shops in Woodbridge stock locally grown and made produce. You can be sure the shopkeeper knows where everything comes from and has been carefully selected. Food miles are low and the produce is fresh, often organic, and good for you as well as being very tasty. And walking in the fresh air between the shops adds to your regular exercise routine as well as being a real social occasion.

Real shopping is a world away from retail parks!
